Donnay Formula 100 Hexacore Unibody
Donnay is a brand whose tradition is well known to all tennis players and is a reality that has solid origins that address a niche of enthusiasts looking for a particular product, unique and somehow inimitable.
The Formula 100 represents the “tweener,” the 100-300 of the house with lines that recall the well-known Pure Drive but with a completely different soul. Never as in this case could we say that a racket is full of surprises.
It should be noted that in this 2020 version called HEXA-UNIBODY, the technology used for the construction of the frame has been replaced with a brand new technology that sees the frame made of a real carbon monocoque from the hoop down to the handle and in addition to the cap; a full-monocoque frame never seen before for a tennis frame, which recalls the very first wooden rackets with integrated handle and cap.
A break from the “traditional” production technologies, consolidated and used by the manufacturers that we will test to see what effects it can produce in terms of feeling, knowing that the main objective is maximum feeling and sensitivity, which have always been focal points of Donnay projects.
In addition to this important innovation, the FORMULA 100 is built with a six-cell structure called HEXA-CORE, a technology owned by Donnay, an evolution of the original DUAL-CORE, which has then evolved into TRI-CORE, as well as PENTA-CORE and HEXA-CORE, construction techniques that use a particular polyurethane placed inside the cells, called XENECORE. This material with expanding properties, when heated during the carbon heating phase, allows the use of more flexible and lighter materials without losing solidity and increasing the absorption capacity of vibrations at medium-high frequency.
The technique of this latest addition from Donnay is to be understood as the latest, innovative and extreme innovation in the use of XENECORE, since it combines the experience gained in terms of the realization of the six internal HEXACORE cells with those of the XENECORE filled structures, with the UNIBODY “full monocoque” structure.
