Donnay Allwood 102 Hexacore Unibody

There are unique frames that distinguish themselves from all the others, and in the case of the Donnay Allwood 102, this claim fits perfectly as it is a racquet that in terms of flexibility, feeling, and response certainly has no equal on the market.

The lines take the shape of the previous versions that can be considered an evolution and refinement of the pro one 102 series and the custom Courier and Agassi versions and subsequent variants.

In the case of the Allwood, this is a 22mm-thick racquet with a constant profile that stands out in the hand for its aggressive black livery and rainbow graphics that recall the wooden Donnay of the past tinkered by a certain Bjorn Borg. The rectangles of the vintage Borg Pro are combined in a mix of colors that recalls the sequence drawn by the graphics of Donnay Allwood.

The innovations introduced are different and do not limit themselves exclusively to the graphics – simpler, more sober and linear than in the past – but they go further and present, as for all the sisters of the 2020 line, the Unibody technology.

The Unibody construction is a new feature introduced in the latest version, and involves the construction of a full monocoque frame from the hoop to the handle cap with a single mold that molds the entire racquet. This allows for a single component that makes up the entire frame, with no added elements or “accessories,” with the sole exception of the grommets and bumper guard.

The inner is filled with Xenecore foam, which is not injected afterwards but instead expanded during the construction and “baking” of the frame in order to constitute a structural element with a resistant and dampening function against vibrations, an element that is audible from the very first strokes on court.
