Maximum Resilience Range

The maximum resilience range represents the tension interval in which the string expresses its best elastic response characteristics. In this zone, the material operates under optimal conditions, ensuring the best balance between deformation and energy return.

When the goal is to maximize performance in terms of power, reactivity, and dynamic elasticity, it is advisable to approach this reference range. The string will feel livelier, more responsive, and more efficient at impact.

Conversely, if the aim is to increase control and reduce the string’s exuberance, tension must be increased proportionally to the desired level of precision. In this case, the response becomes more progressive and manageable, at the expense of some free power.

Maximum Resilience Index

The parameter referred to as “ball exit” corresponds to peak resilience, meaning the string’s ability to deliver a fast and intense elastic response upon ball impact.

In sensory terms, this value describes whether a string provides a feeling of explosiveness and fast ball exit, or instead emphasizes ball contact, softness, and progressive output. It is essentially a direct indicator of how lively a string is.

Peak resilience is measured relative to natural gut, considered the absolute reference for elasticity. Higher values indicate superior dynamic reactivity, typical of strings that deliver power, liveliness, and exuberance.

  • Highly resilient string: powerful, reactive, lively, with fast ball exit
  • Low-resilience string: less powerful, less reactive, more “dead” feel and progressive ball exit

Average Resilience

Average resilience measures the overall elastic behavior of the string throughout the entire loading and unloading cycle, always in comparison with natural gut, the reference for both average and peak resilience.

High values identify strings with predominantly elastic behavior: more comfortable, easier on the joints, and generally more powerful. Lower values, on the other hand, indicate a more plastic behavior, associated with stiffer strings oriented toward control, stability, and spin potential.
