On court – Pros

The Ripstick performs extremely well in all parts of the court. The handling is certainly one of the strengths of this frame which makes it very good especially at the net. The shots above the head are played with good precision and a lot of (agonistic) nastiness while the volleys are performed naturally, whether they are closing or approach. Sometimes you have the feeling of having a paddle shovel in your hands rather than a tennis racket, being so easy to move and easy to handle…

The ball output is very good and emphasized by the generous stringbed and the open 16×18 pattern. Both power and access to rotations are abundant. The O3 technology allows the strings to move freely during impact, increasing the snapback effect that emphasizes the spin on the ball and facilitates the execution of loaded shots and treacherous trajectories. Extremely natural is the execution of the topspin shots while for the backspin shots you need a bit of adaptation to get a ball that does not rise too much after the rebound.

Very good the flat serve, powerful and with the right weight of the ball, as well as the extremely effective slice and kick variants to open the court and close the rally with a winner. It is a frame that lends itself (perhaps with a bit of custom designed to increase its mass) quite well also for serve & volley … so for lovers of the genre it will be a frame to be strongly considered.

Excellent stability and the sensation of comfort guaranteed by the ATS (Anti-Torque System) technology. The frame, despite the low weight of 300 grams, is very stable and does not vibrate, giving the player a pleasant feeling of comfort.

The “pasty” impact of the stringbed with the ball is very particular, producing a “full” and very satisfying sound! Here the O3 technology makes itself felt…
